Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix" trilogy) has joined Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman in director Marc Evans' Snow Cake, which began filming on Sunday.
Variety says the cast was drawn to the project on the strength of the script written by British first-time screenwriter Angela Pell.
Set in the middle of winter in Wawa, Ontario, Snow Cake is an engaging and original story which explores the odd friendship between a high-functioning autistic woman named Linda (Weaver) and Alan (Rickman), a quiet, brooding man traumatized after being involved in a fatal car accident. Alan comes into Linda's life following a personal twist of fate.
The movie is filming in Wawa and relocates to Toronto at the end of the month. The shoot is scheduled to wrap-up on May 19.
